Behind the Blog - Faeit 212: Warhammer 40k News and Rumors

In the Grim Dark Future, there is war, and blogging about said war. Also blogging about anything and everything else going on. Blogging is a thankless job most times, and while our online community is pretty awesome in general as we celebrate all things Grim Dark, hobby, and miniature related. Seldom is the curtain pulled back to shine a light behind the scenes. The people who devote themselves to the dark god's of blogging work away frantically keeping the posts flowing. So in this series we will be speaking to some of our communities most dedicated. Getting a small glimpse into the minds of our fellow bloggers, and pillars of our online world. To get this glimpse a short series of questions went out into the warp, and these are the bloggers who responded.

Today we speak with Natfka from Faeit 212: Warhammer 40k News and Rumors

Faeit 212 has become a fantastic source of rumors, and news in the GW community. I can only imagine that there is the possibility for it to stretch into further game systems as we already see information about Dark Age sneaking into the mix. (Which is cool I find that game interesting) At this point I don't know anyone who doesn't reference this site when talking about rumors local to me. Natfka appears to have a great selections of sources to gain material from. He stalks the interwebs like a detective from an old 50's story so the rest of us don't have too. Please join us as he agreed to answer our series of questions.

Please list all the sites you write for.

The only site I write for that his hobby related is Faeit 212 right now.

What originally got you into blogging?

I was literally a little upset for several months, that my games would keep get interrupted with questions about list building, rules, or new things coming out. I am a serious news junkie by nature, so digging up information about my hobby just comes naturally. So Faeit 212 was set up to mostly discuss list building, to avoid having to repeat the same things week in and week out. It was accidental that I jumped into the news and rumors arena.

Dark Eldar were being released, and of course being my favorite army I was digging up every little bit I could find. I figured I would post it up, so that friends that were interested could also check it out. Once the Dark Eldar came out, I just kept on doing it, and the site evolved into what it is today.

Is there a story behind your blogs name?

Faeit 212 has an interesting back story  The name Faeit is an Inquisitor from my personal IG army, and I have written some fiction (since I love writing) about the character. 212 is literally the temperature at which water boils in Fahrenheit. 212 degrees. Hence Faeit 212, We live in the End of Times, Besieged from every direction, and Our Existence is on the brink of Annihilation. Mankind has reached its boiling point, but Fear Not, Faeit is at hand, and it is I who shall uncover the secrets of our deliverance.

Can you name two articles you have written in the past you really enjoy and why?

That is hard. I would say that one of my favorite articles is about dice, and searching for the holy grail of dice... average rolls. Otherwise, I enjoy articles, or news stories that get the community talking.... not necessarily arguing, but discussing the latest topic. With that said, community driven articles, like the Faeit 212 BlogExchange are always some of the most fun, since it highlights other people and their blogs in the community.

How do you keep up with blogging and how much time does it take up out of your personal life?

I am up early every day. That is when I blog, or right before I head to bed. So really I spend an hour in the morning, and an hour in the evening on average, and sometimes more or less depending on what is going on. I still have to keep up with what is going on during the day, but my phone works good for that. So beyond family, work, and hobby?.......A Personal Life? What's that?

Are there some really great blogs that inspire you or that you would like to shout out?

I am a huge fan of blogs and hobby oriented sites. Forums on the other hand, just delve into too much whining and negative bickering. You really can't take anything they say anymore seriously.

If you had one tip for a newer blogger what would you tell them?

Post what keeps you inspired. Link up with other sites and networks, like the Faeit 212 BlogExchange, just shoot me an email, and then keep on posting. Do not forget to visit other peoples sites, and add a few comments here and there, the other authors appreciate dialogue, and there is nothing worse than blogging to yourself. I think I did that for about 9 months or so.

Any final words before we wrap this thing up?

The online community side of our hobby is very much a positive to our hobby and I can't say enough about it. Once you get away from the known forums, there are so many positive authors and hobbyists out there. Our hobby is world wide, and I am serious when I say that it is everywhere on this planet. Get out there and explore. I blog simply because I love this hobby and the people I meet the people involved in it.

Special Thanks to Natfka for taking the time out of his busy schedule to help make this series happen.
