Forgeworld Realm of Battle Stronghold

Forgeworld's new terrain line is kicked off officially with the first tile. This designed to be able to replace one tile on the GW battle board I am pretty sure and it honestly looks pretty nice. Lets take a look at some pictures of the new product that is now for sale.

"Comprising a power generator, two reinforced defensive positions, dragons-teeth tank traps and huge, armoured blast doors dug into a central hill, the Imperial Strongpoint Expansion tile is a fortified stronghold that will make a great feature for your armies to fight over in games of Warhammer 40,000.
Perfect for representing critical objectives such as a command and control facility, or a fortified artillery pit, the Imperial Strongpoint can be used in games of Planetstrike as a unique Bastion or to represent a huge variety of stratagems, strategic assets and other rules in Battle Missions. It is also a great addition to Apocalypse games and other Warhammer 40,000 battles.
This tile is the first in a wide range of planned Expansion tiles designed for use with the Citadel Realm of Battle Gameboard. "

  1. Would love to get a look at one of these. Is it a cast piece of resin? Is it a modified realm of battle board? Is it in multiple pieces?

Obviously a great piece solely for it's intended function, but how suitable for use as a display board or something similar?

My World Eaters are based in a style similar to the way they've painted the piece pictured. So, obviously my thoughts have immediately turned to it's use as something else, in addition to, incorporating it into terrain for my own table.

It's approximately $114.00 U.S. given the current conversion rates. So, a bit spendy to pull the trigger on one without hesitation, but I am definitely eager to see what other terrain they follow it up with.

  2. I intend to get it, since I got the entire Realm of Battle free. Plus, at 2x2 footprint, it's a relatively decent value for terrain, IMO.

  3. The board does look pretty amazing although the prize is a bit steep for a display board lol.

I think its pretty cool over all terrain wise though and I am looking forward to seeing what else they come out with
