ForgeWorld Spotlight- Will Hayes

So Forgeworld is back again and doing what they do. This time they announced a new old school dread model that looks impressive. The buzz is on online as we have something new to add to the wishlist and drool over. This thing is cool and again as they release this pre- heresy looking stuff at some point Forgeworld will be the reason I start a Marine army in the future. The models and options they have for them are just great looking. So first off lets see some pictures of this new model with a little flavor text since its the new hawtness on the block.

"The Contemptor Pattern Dreadnought was once a mainstay of the armoured might of the Astartes Legions of old. Larger and stronger than standard pattern Dreadnoughts, the Contemptor’s systems featured many examples of techno-arcana steeped in the sacred mysteries of the Legio Cybernetica. Some chapters still boast these war relics amongst their ranks, and whenever the Contemptor takes to the field of battle, it is an echo of the power of ancient days"

Normally I post the news letter updates with a little bit of commentary however normally not so many other blogs I follow post the same info up right away. When I went online to check out those in my follow list I saw a ton of people had posted the new model with info already so I felt that had been done already and doing the exact same thing is one boring and two I have no illusion that my readers don't actually read several other sites. So we need to do something a bit different and a bit more fun. So right away I thought lets look at the designer of the new model which in this case is Will Hayes. He has actually designed several other models and  you can base the quality of this model partly on how you feel about these others I think. So I present to you some of Mr. Hayes past work with flavor text from the Forgeworld site.

"The Cobra is another of the Eldar Engines of Vaul. The Cobra is an ancient design much like the Scorpion, but re-armed with a massive D-cannon. This is a weapon capable of tearing a hole through time and space, and allowing the Immaterium to flood into the material plane with terrible destructive force"

Heavy Artillery Carriage with Earth Shaker Cannon
"Huge towable artillery carriage mounting the Earthshaker Cannon. Includes Earthshaker shells, shell pallet, heavy duty tow-hitch and lift-hook for Trojan "

"The Grenadier Centaur Light Assault Carrier is one of many Centaur variants, designed to manoeuvre and deploy small squads of Grenadiers to exploit weaknesses in the enemy line."

"The Tauros Rapid Assault Vehicle is a common sight on many frontier worlds within the Imperium, where it is used as a utility vehicle. Its rugged drive axles are individually powered by high-yield galvanic motors, which allows the vehicle to maintain speed even when some of its wheels may be damaged or destroyed.

Mr Hayes also had his hand in working on the Titans both Imperial and Chaos the new Eldar Titan being the last thing he did before the Dread model pictured above.

"Tall, slender and elegant, the Phantom is the largest known pattern of Eldar Titan. It is swift and agile in comparison to the lumbering behemoths of the Legio Titanicus, and is armed with some of the deadliest examples of Eldar weaponry. Each Phantom is the pinnacle of Eldar warcraft. Linked to a wraithbone core containing the living spirit of its previous pilots, the single crewman of each Phantom Titan, known as a Steersman, is an Exarch dedicated to this aspect of warfare. Locked in a trance-like state, the Steersman’s consciousness merges with the spirit-sentience of the Titan, enabling the mighty war machine to react and manoeuvre with astonishing speed"

All rights and nonsense are Forgeworld I claim no credit of course I never pretend any of these models or images are really mine. For more information, pictures, or to consider sending money in exchange for one of these things please head over to Forgeworld.
